Purpose
The purpose of this website is for me to write about my life and what interests me.
I started learning the classical guitar at 15and it has slowly become a part of who I am. Naturally, writing about classical guitar related news is what I will tend to do.
Besides, if I don’t write about this, who will? The classical guitar is such a niche subject. There aren’t many classical guitar journalists out there and few classical guitar bloggers.
I also try to help the local classical guitar scene in Singapore with my website. I try to cover local events and try to produce as much local content as time permits.
Because I’m in the business of marketing communications, I occasionally write about that too. I’m also a strong believer in volunteerism and try to promote that on my website where applicable.
I’m a strong believer in helping people and if you would like some coverage on my website, you can contact me and I’ll see what I can do.
About reviews
I was trained as a journalist and I’m a staunch believer in journalistic integrity. I do not get paid for any of my reviews or articles. This allows me to maintain my objectivity.
Over the years, I have been offered a commissioned pay to help promote certain local guitar brands. When I was the President at Ngee Ann Polytechnic Strings, 2 separate retailers offered this to me. I immediately refused. I told them, “There’s no need to give me a commission. Just pass on the savings to my members and give them a discount.”
The products I review are a mixture of items I purchase or items sent to me for review purposes. I test all products as thoroughly as possible before I render my opinion.
This can take weeks or sometimes even months.
But I do what I can to produce fair, balanced and honestly written reviews. If you would like me to review a product, you can contact me here.
