I will be performing as part of a classical guitar quartet with Rick Smith, Stacey-Jane Douglas and James Heng on Music Therapy Day, this Sunday, 14 April, 2.30pm, Library@Esplanade.
We will be performing the following:
Quantock Prospect by Patrick Benham
The Hunted by Colin Tommis
Gymnopedie No. 1 by Satie, arranged by Stephen Goss
English Suite No. 3 Op. 78 by John W. Duarte
Rufty Tufty
The Crystal Spring
The Black Nag
This will be our first public performance as a quartet, and we will be premiering the quartet version of Quantock Prospect by Patrick Benham.
Patrick was very kind in arranging this piece of music into four parts for us and I look forward to performing it.
Remember to stick around for the fascinating talks about Music Therapy. Music Therapy is a kind of therapy used to promote physical and mental well-being. I am familiar with physiotherapy and psychotherapy, but as a musician, I am particularly fascinated by Music Therapy. I have always viewed my craft as an art and have never thought about using it to promote well-being.
If you are a musician like myself, or if you are interested in a career in Music Therapy, this is the event for you. Also, if you want to learn more about Music Therapy, and see if it’s right for yourself or a loved one, you should attend this event.
For more information, visit the official blog of the Association for Music Therapy Singapore (AMTS).
See you there!
