My sister and brother-in-law from Canada visited Singapore with my 3 year old twin nephew and niece. It was nice to spend some time with them at Resorts World Sentosa, where we visited Universal Studios Singapore, thereby allowing me take the first vacation I’ve had in the last 5 years.
Trying to photograph all the action was a real challenge, blowing bubbles, stage performances with pyrotechnics and low-lighting were some issues I had to contend with. But arguably the most challenging was trying to photograph two energetic 3 year olds who refuse to listen to instruction. Fortunately, I managed I capture some pretty nice photos.
It’s a pity that their trip coincided with my two-week National Service In Camp Training. Instead of spending time with my nephew and niece, I spent most of the time in camp with my army buddies. I always enjoy spending time with my army buddies, but considering how I haven’t seen my sister, brother-in-law and my nephew and niece in two years, it would have been nice to spend more time with them.
My sister has left for Canada with her family. It has been less than 24 hours, but I miss them already.
Aw well, at least their trip has been heavily documented with plenty of photos and videos.
Even though my Sony Nex 5R performed admirably with the 16-50mm kit lens, I’m thinking about supplementing my kit lens with faster and sharper prime lenses, or perhaps one of Sony’s zoom lenses.
Maybe I’ll buy the lenses towards the end of the year…
