I will be attending this recital next Saturday. The programme looks very interesting and exciting. Cabrera will be playing works from established classical guitar composers.
It should be quite easy to listen to, even for non-classical guitar fans.
Check it out if you have the time. Tickets should still be available on Sistec.
Also, I hear rumours that this is being organized by Yudi Kwok. It should be quite a good show.

SYNOPSIS
Filipino classical guitarist Manuel Cabrera II makes his solo debut at The Esplanade in a concert entitled “The Music of the Guitar”.
Manuel, first prize winner of numerous guitar competitions in the Philippines and Japan, is regarded as one of the best Filipino classical guitarists of his generation. Through a scholarship, he obtained his Master of Music degree from the Elisabeth University of Music in Hiroshima, Japan.
As a performer, he had been featured at the 2004 “Filipino Artists Series” at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. He had also performed as a Soloist with the University of the Philippines Chamber Orchestra and with the University of Santo Tomas Symphony Orchestra at the “Concert at the Park” at Rizal Park in Manila. He had likewise done solo concerts in Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka, Japan. Recently, he was featured, as an internationally recognised Filipino classical guitarist, in the “Global Filipino” segment of the television network ABS-CBN’s cable channel, The Filipino Channel.
Manuel’s April concert at The Esplanade will feature the Singapore premiere performance of Leo Brouwer’s Las Ciudad de las Columnas and Marek Pasieczny’s Homenaje a de Falla, as well as other works by Astor Piazzolla, Manuel Ponce and Nikita Koshkin.
